What is the TCL Flip?

The TCL Flip is a traditional clamshell flip phone — no touchscreen, no smart interface, just an old-school flip with a kosher filter applied. At $99 starting price, it's the cheapest kosher flip we carry that we consider reliable.

Who is the TCL Flip for?

  • Anyone on a tight budget who needs a kosher flip
  • Children's first phones where you just need calls and texts
  • Backup phones, travel phones, or rental scenarios
  • People who genuinely want minimal — calls, texts, and that's basically it

Who is the TCL Flip NOT for?

  • Anyone who wants apps beyond the very basics
  • Anyone who wants a touchscreen (the TCL is keypad-only)
  • Anyone needing MMS who got the wrong version (see below)

A note on MMS

Some TCL Flip versions ship without MMS support (picture messaging). If picture messages aren't working on your TCL, check the original box — if you got the no-MMS version, you can send it back to us to be re-flashed. Include a note explaining why and a return address.

Warranty

Comes with a 1-year warranty through our protection plan if purchased.

Ani Choma TCL Flip 2 — special version

There's a special TCL Flip 2 variant approved by Ani Choma that in the US works only with our Ani Choma plan ($16/month on Verizon). Some problematic phone numbers may be blocked at the network level on this plan. To set up, call (848) 299-4081.

Bottom line

The TCL Flip is what you buy when you want a kosher flip and you're not willing to pay more than $100–$170 to get one. It's proven, it works, and it's the most common choice for first phones, backup phones, and budget rollouts. Don't expect anything more than calls and texts — but if that's all you need, this is the one.
